Getting this stunning, ultra-contemporary home built turned out to be an unusual challenge that little in our generations of experience could have prepared us for. Barely begun when the pandemic shut the world down, we relied on our integrity, our time tested process and our emphasis on collaboration to get the job done. Unable to travel from their East Coast home for site visits or meetings, the clients had to build their dream home from afar. We worked tirelessly to develop a personal relationship with them, and keep our lines of communication open so that they would feel comfortable relying on our expertise and craftsmanship in the most unusual of circumstances.
Our ongoing collaboration allowed us to take full advantage of their stunning lot and create the contemporary vacation home they envisioned. Industrial loft styling and fully retractable walls that take in the huge Jemez Mountain and Badland views are just the beginning of this home’s wow factor. A roof deck offers unobstructed 360-degree vistas, and the covered portal, with its spacious, open-air dining and living area, blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. “I get to have my New York loft in Santa Fe,” was the owner’s crowning compliment when he was finally able to see the house. We overcame lots of challenges to fulfill their vision, and made wonderful friends in the process.
