One of our first ultra-contemporary design build projects, this home presented a huge learning curve for us. The owners, natives of the San Francisco bay area, knew exactly what they wanted, down to the house’s maximum square footage. They were determined to build something truly unique, and the result of their vision is a strong home, with bold design elements, and only the highest quality finishes.
Being the home builder on a project like this is a bit like being a matchmaker. Because it was one of our first contemporary projects, we thought a lot about who would be the right fit to work with us, and assembled a team of professionals with parallel aesthetics and personalities. The home has lots of varied textures—gravel, stone, tiles, stucco, steel, and copper…, and the clients’ expectations were very well defined. The end result is spectacular, and we were fortunate to have cultivated successful relationships with all those involved in spite of the challenges.
